Born in Prizren, Kosovo in 1982. His first interest to photography began with the war in Kosovo. His first work, documenting the remains of the war made him decide to stay in photography, especially in photojournalism. After learning the technical side of darkroom and processing studied journalism in Prishtina and followed photojournalism workshop with VII Photo in Provence / France. Ferdi had to wait for more than six years for being in the real photojournalist life. He was one of the first photographers in Express daily newspaper in Prishtina followed by Lajm daily newspaper and agency work for World Picture News and the Associated Press. He cooperated with the United Nations magazine “Focus Kosovo”, photography team during the Security Council vizit, corporate reportage for pre electional campaine of current Prime minister Hashim Thaqi and government documentary photographer during the Kosovo independence events in February 2008. His work has been published in Marie Claire, Le Journal De Dimanche, New York Times, The Herald Tribune, Le Monde, Yo Dona and contributed to Spanish documentary photography magazine “Ojo De Pez” with his long term project on the Missing Persons from Kosovo. In 2007 he was awarded with the Ex-Changes” photography grant from the German Government for his project on pollution in Kosovo. At the moment he is working on personal projects in Kosovo and France and continuing his freelance work.
